What makes a founder

worth quoting
Founder

Journalists do not quote founders because the company is interesting. They quote founders who have a view, can defend it, and will say something more useful than the official line.

That means picking a small number of subjects you genuinely know more about than most people, and being consistently available to talk about them. Breadth is the enemy here. Being the person on one thing beats being vaguely present on ten.

The work is choosing that territory honestly, building the material that proves it, and putting you in front of the journalists, panels and platforms where that audience already is.

Problems

If two or more of these sound familiar, this is the service you need first.

01

The company is known, you are not

Buyers trust people more than logos, and there is no public record of who is behind this.

02

You have views but no platform

You know your sector well and nobody has ever asked you about it.

03

Fundraising is harder than it should be

Investors back founders. A founder with no public track record is a harder story to tell internally.

04

Your competitor is the quoted expert

Same market, less knowledge, considerably more visibility.

01

Trust transfers to the business

People buy from people. A credible founder shortens every sales conversation that follows.

02

It survives the company

A personal reputation is portable across roles, ventures and decades.

03

It compounds faster than brand PR

One good quote leads to the next request. Founders reach critical mass quicker than companies do.

Our

Process
Process

Four stages. The second one is the hardest and it decides everything after it.

01

Audit

What exists about you now, what you are already credible on, and what a journalist finds when they search your name.

02

Position

Two or three subjects you can genuinely own, chosen honestly. This is where most founder PR goes wrong.

03

Place

Commentary, profiles, bylines and panels, with preparation before every one.

04

Report

What ran, which journalists now know your name, and what to say next.

What you

get
Included

Every retainer includes all of the following. Volume scales with the package, the list does not change.

Personal media audit

What exists about you now and what a journalist finds first.

Expertise territory

Two or three subjects you can genuinely own, agreed in writing.

Founder narrative

The story of the decisions, not a CV written out in prose.

Bio and headshot pack

Short, medium and long, ready whenever a desk asks.

Byline pipeline

Article ideas drafted and matched to specific publications.

Reactive comment service

Fast quotes when a story breaks inside your territory.

Interview preparation

The questions you will be asked, including the ones you will not enjoy.

Panel and podcast outreach

Long-form formats where your reasoning can actually show.

Coverage report

What ran, plus which journalists now recognise your name.

A named contact

Reachable when a journalist needs you by five.

Why

Nova Social
Why
01

We build on what is true

A founder positioned as an expert on something they are not gets found out in the first interview.

02

Narrow beats broad

Two subjects owned properly outperform ten covered loosely, every time.

03

We prepare you for the bad question

The one you hope nobody asks is the one that decides how the piece reads.

Questions

Yes, and they work best together.

Company PR positions the business. Founder PR positions the person. Buyers, investors and journalists all check the person, and a strong founder profile makes every company story easier to place.

Then this is probably not the right service.

Founder PR requires availability and a willingness to hold opinions in public. If that is not you, company PR and press release distribution will serve you better, and we will say so.

From what you already know better than most people.

We interview you, look at what you have actually done, and pick two or three subjects you can defend under questioning. Aspirational territories fall apart in the first interview.

We draft, you edit, it goes out in your name.

It has to sound like you. A byline written entirely by an agency reads like one, and journalists who know your voice notice.

First coverage in five to eight weeks. Real standing in six to twelve months.

Being quoted once is not a reputation. Being the person a journalist calls about a subject is, and that takes repetition.

Yes, and it usually should be.

The same relationships serve both. Running them separately duplicates the outreach and confuses the journalists.

We prepare you so it is unlikely, and we handle it if it happens.

Every interview comes with briefing notes and the difficult questions rehearsed. If something does go wrong, correction and response is part of the service.
